VISION
Recovery and development of commercial Somali agriculture production to sustain economic prosperity for SOMALI-WADDANI FARMERS CO-OP & Somali agriculture communities.
SOMALI-WADDANI FARMERS CO-OP’s strategy is to recover the commercial Somali agriculture industry through mutual agreement between Somali agriculture cooperative/s.
MISSION
Mobilizations of commercial Somalia agriculture industry cooperatives in recovering and developing the Somali agriculture including banana exports. Soliciting agriculture capital equipment to support Somali agriculture infrastructure development to sustain cooperative’s plantations enriched with technical knowhow, quality training, equipment and the essential inputs.
About SOMALI-WADDANI FARMERS CO-OP:
SOMALI-WADDANI FARMERS COOPERATIVE (SOMALI-WADDANI CO-OP) is an association of farmers’ cooperative established to revive commercially viable agri-businesses in Somalia (bananas, sesame-seeds, lemon, mango and grass) and water and irrigation services; water well drilling, animal feed.
Current situation:
The Somali agriculture industry is at its lowest situation with very-low morale of farmers. Due to lack of agriculture extensions and support from gov’t, the farmers in general are in a very depraved development situation; lack infrastructure; roads, irrigation systems and security, the farmers are the most vulnerable communities in the riverine areas of Somalia. They survive in between floods disasters to droughts and lack of water.
Potentials of Somalia agriculture exports:
The SOMALI-WADDANI FARMERS CO-OP’s agenda is to aim at motivating cooperatives to engage in commercial plantations of various crops preparing them to gradually and professionally start new page for the Somali agriculture development & industry.
SOMALI-WADDANI FARMERS COOPERATIVE shall seek agriculture capital equipment to support these cooperative/s to engaging them in improving the basic infrastructures and the technical training of Good Agricultural Practices (GAP), Good Banana Production Practices (GBPP); the necessary farm inputs such as irrigation, fertilizers and processing support. The SOMALI-WADDANI FARMERS CO-OP shall produce quality Somali agriculture products for the local markets and to int’l markets.
SERVICES
SOMALI-WADDANI CO-OP shall provide the following recovery & development services to the cooperative members in an inclusive and transparent manner:
Proper organization:
Help SOMALI-WADDANI FARMERS CO-OP associations and other cooperatives in the agri-business to accessing capital equipment in the recovery & development programs
NEEDS assessments:
Help SOMALI-WADDANI FARMERS CO-OP associations and other cooperatives to conduct assessments; crops, soil test, etc
Investment support:
Help SOMALI-WADDANI FARMERS CO-OP associations and other cooperatives with basing investment advice to uplift the basic farm infrastructure needs; processing / packing centers, irrigation systems etc.
Mutual agreement/s:
Help registering in an inclusive and transparent manner to enter mutual agreement/s with SOMALI-WADDANI FARMERS CO-OP & its potential local & export markets.
Marketing strategy:
Help SOMALI-WADDANI FARMERS CO-OP associations with selling projected commercial volumes of quality products to SOMALI-WADDANI FARMERS CO-OP.
Increased Production:
Support participating SOMALI-WADDANI FARMERS CO-OP associations and other cooperatives with coordinated and uniform production of quality and commercial export volumes.
Labor Protection:
Train SOMALI-WADDANI FARMERS CO-OP associations and other cooperatives in abiding/enforcing int’l labor Conventions and respecting worker rights and improving working conditions.
Cooperation:
Help farmer association / cooperatives in disseminating useful information (TR4 preventions), plans of actions and risk minimizations with stakeholders.
Training: SOMALI-WADDANI FARMERS CO-OP:
Shall provide to participating coops & farmer associations free GAP and GBPP.

SOMALI-WADDANI FARMERS CO-OP is one of the Somali agri-business marketing cooperative & participating the recovery & development of commercial Somalia agriculture
NEW & EXISTING FARMER ASSOCIATIONS—BANANA, SESAME & MAIZE SECTOR
SOMALI-WADDANI FARMERS CO-OP shall work closely with other registered Somali farmers cooperatives with mutual agreement in the Somali agriculture development.
THE MINISTRY OF COMMERCE & INDUSTRY (MoCI)
SOMALI-WADDANI FARMERS CO-OP, with the help of MoCI, to provide trade protection the Somali agriculture at its development stage of next five (5) years. Non-competition and exclusive export rights for SOMALI-WADDANI FARMERS CO-OP. Tax relief facilitation for the Somali agriculture production in the Arab League & Turkish markets.
THE MINISTRY OF FINANCE
SOMALI-WADDANI FARMERS CO-OP to solicit national financial investment grants/ loans for the Somali agriculture sectors and to receive tax relief support for the importations of materials, equipment and the necessary farm inputs
THE SOMALI CHAMBER OF COMMERCE (SCC)
SOMALI-WADDANI FARMERS CO-OP is an association of farmer cooperative registered with the UDHIS, Federal Ministry of Agriculture and in the S.W. State. SOMALI-WADDANI FARMERS CO-OP is independently attempting to recover & develop Somali agri-businesses, including the Somali Commercial bananas exports.
Int’l PARTNERS of SOMALIA (FAO, WB, USAID, TURKEY, EU, OIC +)
Register and solicit direct / indirect support for SOMALI-WADDANI FARMERS CO-OP through the Ministry of Agriculture & Irrigation with a five-years budget to help revive, develop and sustain the commercial Somali banana export industry.
